Tollygunge Women in Need is a not-for-profit, non-government, social
organization.
Founders
TWIN
was founded in 1995 by a Belgium couple Dr. (Mrs) Marie Paule Baudot,
former professor of Leuven University in Belgium and Mr. Josef (Tor)
Mutton, Management consultant (Rtd).
Registrations

As a resource organization WIN is also developing education and IEC
materials for several national level NGOs like Child in Need Institute (CINI) and

Resource Mobilizations from different sources:
- Pre- Matric GOVT Scholarship for children of
Minority Community: With the objective to award scholarship to
meritorious students (with 50% plus
marks) belonging to the economically weak sections of minority
communities to
enable them to pursue studies from class I to X, 40 Muslim children (22
from
Tollygunge, 18 from Dhobiyatala) have been selected and supported
according to the criteria of the scheme for obtaining the scholarship
(which
includes school fees & maintenance allowance of Rs100/- per month)

Provident Fund (PF) Scheme of GOVT of West Bengal for workers of the Unorganized Sector:
Under this scheme, if one individual deposits Rs 20/-per month in his/her PF
account, another Rs 20/-per month will be contributed to his/her account by the GOVT. This way, money of an
individual will grow with time. As an example an individual
joining the scheme at the age of 18,will get a sum of Rs 1, 01,664 at the
retiring age of 55yrs. TWIN makes effort to organize all women of its project
areas to participate in this scheme for their own long term benefit.
- Awareness Programmes conducted by Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC):The organization is continuing its negotiation with KMC and Diamond Harbour
Municipality for availing their facilities and support in conducting some
awareness programs on different social issues in TWIN operational areas
within the ward under KMC and Diamond Harbour Municipality.
- Immunization of all children through Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) clinics:
TWIN motivates the parents from its project areas that they avail all WHO recommended
immunization including Hep-B, for their children from KMC clinic free of cost.
- Delivery of pregnant mothers in government
hospitals and maternal benefit from different Govt. schemes.
